A talented group of local artists, Penistone Arts Collective (PAC) not only support Chrissie Yates and the committee in coordinating Penistone Arts Week, but also organise fundraising events throughout the year to help ensure the festival can continue to thrive.
Work is already underway on the 2027 Penistone calendar following the huge success of previous editions. What began as a fundraising project has become a much-loved annual tradition, eagerly anticipated by both residents and local retailers.
November 2026 will see the launch of Poppies With Purpose, raising funds for both the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal and the St John’s Church Roof Fund.
In 2026, PAC partnered with Hen’s Teeth to present the first Penistone Art Fair at St John’s Community Centre. Bringing together 45 local artists and makers, the event provided a fitting finale to the festival and a vibrant celebration of local creativity.
PAC also organises the annual Landscape Artist of the Year event, which continues to attract artists and visitors alike.
Earlier in 2026, the group’s beautifully illustrated 2026 calendar went on sale. Featuring 24 original artworks celebrating Penistone and its surrounding area, PAC member Joanne Molloy of JM Flora & Fauna Art paired each image with local facts and folklore to create a unique keepsake. The project raised an incredible £1,200 for Penistone Arts Week.
The artists then generously donated prints of the original artworks for auction, raising a further £750 for the St John’s Church Roof Fund. The calendar proved so popular that both the public and local retailers requested another edition, ensuring its continuation into future years.
Members regularly donate artwork and prizes to raffles and fundraising events, helping raise hundreds of pounds for charities including Animal Friends of Turkey (AFOT), Albert’s Horse Sanctuary and Penistone Gateway Club.
In October 2024, PAC joined forces with fellow local artists to launch their first Online Art Auction. Thirty-six donated artworks were auctioned via Facebook with starting bids of just £25, raising an impressive £1,000 towards the staging of PAW 2025.
Their work can be found throughout the town, most notably in Hacketts, where a dedicated gallery space showcases a rotating display of local artwork. Artists’ work can also be discovered in shops, cafés and venues across Penistone, including The Art House Café, All Is Good and Generations Café Bar.
Through their creativity, generosity and community spirit, Penistone Arts Collective continues to play a vital role in supporting Penistone Arts Week, local charities and the wider community. Since 2017, PAC has helped make Penistone Arts Week possible—raising thousands of pounds, supporting good causes and proving that art really can bring a community together.
